Nigeria’s domestic use of natural gas is expanding rapidly across households, transportation, and industry. LPG adoption is increasing in homes, while CNG and LNG are being deployed in mobility, power, and manufacturing, supported by major Federal Government initiatives such as the Nigerian Gas Master Plan, the National Gas Policy, the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP), the Decade of Gas initiative, Executive Order No. 40 of 2024, and the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (P-CNGi). 

However, as gas infrastructure and usage scale, operational, safety, and compliance risks are emerging faster than institutional capacity and public awareness. Without structured coordination, consistent enforcement, and widespread user education, these risks threaten public safety, investor confidence, and the long-term credibility of Nigeria’s gas transition.

The Nigeria Gas Safety Conference (NGSC) is designed as an annual national platform to close this gap. NGSC brings together regulators, policymakers, operators, OEMs, safety professionals, and end users to share practical experience, strengthen institutional capacity, and align on enforceable safety standards across the natural gas value chain.
Organised by Fleissen Events, NGSC facilitates structured dialogue, peer learning, and coordinated action, ensuring that safety considerations evolve in step with policy ambition and infrastructure deployment.

By mainstreaming gas safety through collaboration, regulation, and education, NGSC supports safer operations, stronger compliance, and increased public confidence in natural gas as a transition fuel. The conference contributes to reducing accidents, protecting lives and assets, and sustaining investor trust, while reinforcing Nigeria’s ambition to build a resilient, inclusive, and safe domestic gas economy.
